For teachers, schools and home education

Children don't read about geometry here. They make something.

RainbowShapeArt topics connect maths, art, history and world craft traditions for ages 4–14 — and every one of them ends in the art studios, where the class makes a real piece in the style they've just learnt about. Each topic is written at teacher depth and is free to read.

Learn

Teacher notes, vocabulary and discussion questions — enough depth to teach from directly, with sources cited.

Explore

The background story: the shapes, the craft, the materials, the regions and the history behind the patterns.

Create

A make-brief hands the class into the real art tools, with simpler and stretch versions for mixed abilities.

The topic library

Every topic below is live and editorially reviewed. Topics that draw on living cultural traditions pass an additional cultural review before publishing — they are presented through craft, material, region and history.

Where this is going

The library is deliberately small and growing — each topic takes real research and review before it publishes. Teacher accounts with printables, unit planning and homework briefs are in development. Reading the topics is free and needs no account; the children's activities themselves are part of the RainbowShapeArt subscription.

Teaching with RainbowShapeArt?

We're building this with classrooms and home-ed groups, not just for them. Tell us what your class needs — a topic you'd like covered, a printable you're missing, or how you'd want to set work.
